1. Who May Use TruVault
You must be at least 18 years old to use TruVault. By using the platform you confirm that you meet this requirement. TruVault is intended for individuals reporting harm they have personally experienced or directly witnessed. It is not intended for third-party reporting on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent.
2. Truthfulness Requirement
Every report submitted to TruVault must be truthful to the best of your knowledge. By submitting a report you declare that the information provided is accurate and that you are not submitting it to harass, defame, extort, or cause unjustified harm to any person.
Knowingly submitting false, misleading, or fabricated reports may constitute defamation, harassment, or criminal conduct under applicable law. You accept full legal responsibility for the accuracy of any report you submit.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use TruVault to:
- submit reports you know to be false or materially misleading;
- harass, intimidate, or threaten any person through the platform;
- file disputes in bad faith to suppress legitimate reports;
- attempt to identify or expose other reporters;
- use automated tools to submit reports or search identifiers at scale;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or exploit any security control;
- submit reports on behalf of third parties without their explicit consent;
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
4. What TruVault Is Not
TruVault is not a law enforcement agency, court, investigation body, or regulatory authority. A report on TruVault is not a legal finding, criminal charge, or verdict of any kind. TruVault does not verify the truth of reports beyond confirming that a verified person submitted them.
TruVault is not a substitute for contacting emergency services, police, legal counsel, workplace HR, or qualified support organisations. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number immediately.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting a report you grant TruVault a limited licence to store, encrypt, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not publish, sell, or share your report content with third parties.
You may withdraw your report at any time through My Reports. Withdrawal removes the report from search results. Withdrawn reports may be retained for a limited period for abuse prevention and legal compliance purposes.
6. Disputes
Any person who believes they are the subject of a report may file a formal dispute. A dispute is a recorded declaration contesting the accuracy of a report. Filing a dispute does not remove the report. Disputes filed in bad faith, or as a tactic to suppress legitimate reports, are a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension.
7. Data Processing and Consent
By using TruVault you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes your email address, phone number hash, and any report content you submit. Report content may include sensitive personal data relating to harm experienced.
You may withdraw consent and request deletion of your data at any time by contacting legal@gotruvault.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
8. Limitation of Liability
TruVault is provided as-is and without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TruVault and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on search results, report content, or the presence or absence of a report about any person.
Search results show aggregated signals only. They should not be used as the sole basis for any personal, professional, or legal decision.
9. Removal and Suspension
TruVault reserves the right to remove any report, suspend access, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, in our sole discretion and without prior notice. Reports that are found to be false, abusive, or submitted in violation of these terms may be removed without the reporter's consent.
Reporters who submit multiple reports found to be false, abusive, or in bad faith may be permanently banned from the platform. Permanent bans apply to the email address, phone number hash, and any associated identifiers.
To report abuse or request a takedown, contact legal@gotruvault.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service as the platform evolves. Continued use of TruVault after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to legal@gotruvault.com. Abuse and takedown requests should be sent to legal@gotruvault.com.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TruVault and its operators, affiliates, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the platform; (b) any report you submit; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights, including rights of defamation, privacy, or intellectual property.
This indemnification obligation survives termination of your use of the platform.
13. Legal Process & Disclosure
TruVault may disclose information — including reporter identity — in response to a valid court order, subpoena, search warrant, or other legally binding demand from a competent authority. We will comply with applicable law in doing so.
Where we are legally permitted to do so, we will attempt to notify the affected reporter before complying with such a demand, so they may seek legal protection. We are not obligated to notify if prohibited by law or court order.
By submitting a report, you acknowledge that the confidentiality of your identity is not absolute and may be overridden by lawful legal process.
14. Emergency Safety Disclosure
Notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms, TruVault reserves the right to disclose information to law enforcement or emergency services without a court order if we have a good-faith belief that doing so is necessary to prevent imminent serious harm, death, or injury to any person.
This override is narrow and applied only in genuine emergency circumstances. It does not authorise routine disclosure to law enforcement.
15. Extortion and Misuse of the Platform
Using TruVault — or threatening to use TruVault — as a tool of extortion, coercion, or financial leverage against any person is strictly prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence. This includes threatening to file, or offering to withdraw, a report in exchange for money, services, sexual favours, or any other benefit.
Such conduct will result in immediate permanent suspension and may be reported to law enforcement. TruVault will cooperate fully with any investigation into such misuse.
16. Intellectual Property in Submitted Content
You must not upload evidence or content to which you do not hold the rights or have a lawful basis to share. By uploading content you represent that you have the right to do so and that doing so does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
TruVault stores uploaded content solely for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy and does not claim ownership over it.
17. Reports Involving Minors
If a report relates to conduct involving a person under 18 years of age, including child sexual abuse, child exploitation, or trafficking of a minor, TruVault may be under a legal obligation to report such content to relevant authorities, including child protection agencies or law enforcement, without prior notice to the reporter or subject.
Such disclosures take precedence over confidentiality obligations.
18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
If you are accessing TruVault from the European Union or United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection or data protection laws of your country of residence, including rights under the EU GDPR or UK GDPR.
If a provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
TruVault is provided "as is" and "as available" without any representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that search results are complete, accurate, or current. The absence of a report about a person does not mean that person has not caused harm or been reported elsewhere.
You use TruVault at your own risk and must not rely solely on platform results for any personal, professional, or legal decision.
20. Force Majeure
TruVault is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, internet or infrastructure outages, third-party platform failures, pandemics, or other events that could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented.
In such circumstances, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the event, and we will take reasonable steps to resume normal operation as quickly as possible.
21. Grievance Officer (India)
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, TruVault has designated a Grievance Officer for users in India. If you have a complaint about content, your data, or the operation of the platform, contact:
Email: legal@gotruvault.com
Response time: acknowledgement within 24 hours; resolution within 15 days as required by applicable law.
Complaints must include your name, contact details, and a clear description of the issue. Unresolved grievances may be escalated to the relevant government authority or court of competent jurisdiction.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any notices published on the platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and TruVault with respect to your use of the platform, and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings of any kind between you and TruVault relating to the same subject matter.
If any part of these Terms conflicts with local law applicable to you, that part shall be construed to give maximum effect while remaining compliant with applicable law. The rest of the Terms continue in full force.
